Chandigarh University Emerges Victorious At North Zone Youth Festival 2025

Chandigarh University excelled at the 2025 North Zone Youth Festival, winning the overall championship and 26 trophies in various arts categories, showcasing its commitment to student talent and creativity.

Chandigarh University, located in Gharuan near Chandigarh in the state of Punjab, has once again distinguished itself in the realm of arts and culture. At the 38th Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival 2025, the university's contingent comprising 49 students showcased their exceptional talents across various categories including Theatre, Dance, Music, Literature, and Fine Arts. Their remarkable performance led to the university being declared the overall champion, a title it has earned for the fourth time. The event, organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) at Punjab University, Chandigarh, witnessed Chandigarh University securing the overall trophy by clinching 26 trophies across different events. This triumphant victory has paved the way for the university to participate in the AIU National Youth Festival, scheduled from March 3rd to March 7th, 2025.

Chandigarh University Wins North Zone Youth Festival

The university's achievements were not limited to the overall championship. In individual categories, the team excelled by winning 8 first positions, 5 second positions, and 7 third positions. These included securing the 1st Overall trophy in Theatre, Dance, and Literature, the 2nd Overall trophy in Music, and the 3rd Overall trophy in Fine Arts and Procession. This stellar performance underscores Chandigarh University's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering creativity among its students.

The competition saw a total of 962 students from 21 universities across the North Zone vying for the top spots in contests spanning music, theatre, fine arts, literary, and dance categories. Chandigarh University's consistent excellence was highlighted by their six-year consecutive win in the overall theatre championship. Furthermore, the university's one-act play team celebrated an unparalleled eighth consecutive victory in the North Zone AIU Championship.

At a ceremony held at the PU Chandigarh campus, the Managing Director of Chandigarh University, Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, and Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Devinder Singh, along with the participating students, were presented with the overall trophy. "It is an honour for Chandigarh University to have lifted the overall North Zone AIU trophy, 4th time this year. This has been possible only because of the extraordinary performances of our talented students. Now that they have qualified for the national championship, the university fraternity extends its heartfelt wishes to all participants and anticipates their outstanding performances," said Sandhu, expressing his pride in the university's achievement.
