The Indian Intellectual Property Office (CGPDTM) has announced that the examination for choosing trademark agents will be held on May 7 of next year, after a ten-year gap. Candidates who want to take the trademark and patent agent examination in 2023 can check their eligibility in accordance with the guidelines according to the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks (CGPDTM). It stated that online registration for candidates will probably begin in January 2023. The trade mark agent examination and patent agent examination are anticipated to take place on May 7, 2023, according to the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks' office.

The controller general provides recommendations to the government on these laws and oversees the application of the Trade Marks Act of 1999, the Designs Act of 2000, and the Patents Act of 1970.

The trademark law's main goals are to register any trademark applications made in the nation, improve trademark protection for goods and services, and stop the unauthorised use of marks.

Trade Marks Agent & Patent Agent Registration

Registration for these two exams will start in January 2023.
The Trade Marks Agent Examination 2023 and the Patent Agent Examination 2023 will most likely take place on May 5, 2023, according to the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks office. Candidates who intend to take the Trade Marks Agent Examination in 2023 should determine eligibility by consulting Rule 144 of the Trade Marks Rules, 2017. Similarly, applicants who intend to take the Patent Agent Examination in 2023 may confirm their eligibility per Section 126 of the Patents Act, 1970. (as amended).
