The official IIT Bombay schedules confirm that both examinations are scheduled for January 17, 2027, with the test being conducted from 9 am to 12 noon.
For CEED 2027, candidates must have completed a graduate degree, diploma or postgraduate degree programme of at least three years after Class 12, or be appearing for the final examination of such a programme by July 2027. Candidates who have passed the five-year Government Diploma in Art (G.D. Art) after Class 10 by July 2027 are also eligible.
There is no age restriction specified on the CEED 2027 official website. Candidates should, however, separately verify the admission eligibility prescribed by the institute or programme to which they intend to apply because qualifying in CEED does not by itself guarantee admission.
UCEED has separate eligibility conditions covering age, number of attempts and qualifying examination. For the 2027 examination, candidates from all streams - Science, Commerce and Arts & Humanities - are eligible provided they satisfy the prescribed criteria.
Candidates must have appeared for the Class XII or equivalent examination for the first time in 2026 or 2027. Those who first appeared for the qualifying examination in 2025 or earlier are not eligible. A candidate can appear for UCEED a maximum of two times and only in consecutive years.
UCEED 2027 will be a three-hour test-centre-based examination on January 17. The score can be used for BDes admissions at the participating institutes listed by IIT Bombay. The official schedule states that the results will be declared on March 6, 2027, while scorecard downloads will begin on March 10. The BDes application process starts separately after the result, followed by admission rounds.
Candidates should use the separate official IIT Bombay registration portals for CEED and UCEED. Applicants need to create or use their IIT Bombay external user account, fill in the required personal and academic information, upload the prescribed documents and complete the fee payment.
Applicants should check the 2027 information brochure before submitting the form. IIT Bombay has specifically advised candidates to provide accurate qualifying-examination and category details and upload valid documents in the required formats. Incomplete applications can be rejected.
Candidates should also remember that CEED and UCEED scores are valid for the corresponding admission year only. CEED-qualified candidates need to apply separately to participating institutes and meet their individual admission requirements.
With registration now open, candidates planning to pursue design admissions through CEED or UCEED 2027 should complete the application within the regular-fee window and carefully verify all details before final submission.
