CBSE NET Exam Application Form Release Delayed

The UGC has also uploaded new sets of draft regulations on its website according to which, getting admission to Ph.D. will now be tougher.

The CBSE conducts NET on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The examination is held for determining the eligibility for a number of posts, Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship across the country. According to a few reports, the notification is expected to be out by June 20.

The application form for the National Eligibility Test (NET) has been delayed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

When is The NET exam conducted?

  • The CBSE NET exam is conducted twice a year, usually in the months of June and December, but since the past one year, it is being conducted in July and January. Last year, the form was released on April 12 for the July exam.

About the new draft:

  • The UGC has also uploaded new sets of draft regulations on its website according to which, getting admission to Ph.D. will now be tougher. The draft regulation has suggested that the institutions which come under 'Category III Institution' would enroll candidates who have qualified the NET or SLET or SET examinations for their Ph.D. courses only.

UGC (University Grants Commission) is a statutory organization established by the union government in 1956. Its main objective is to provide recognition to the Indian universities and provide funds to such recognized universities and colleges.CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) now conducts this exam on behalf of UGC for the post of Lecturer and for providing the JRF for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and in research. The exam is conducted in streams such as Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce.
