The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for conducting practical exams for classes 10 and 12. Additionally, schools now have until Sunday, March 31 to upload the results of practical exams, project work, and internal assessments for the 2023-24 academic year. An official notice regarding this extension has been published on CBSE's main website at cbse.gov.in. The board explained that the decision to extend the timeline was made in response to numerous requests from schools.

According to the official notice, "It has been observed that some schools have not yet completed the activities [practical exams/ projects/ internal assessment/ internal grade 2024] within the stipulated time frame despite repeated reminders. These schools are now requesting the Board to provide the facility for uploading marks for practical exams/ projects/ internal assessment/ internal grade 2024."
This year, the board has provided schools with a detailed list of subjects and their corresponding marks distribution to facilitate the smooth conduct of practical exams for classes 10th and 12th. According to the updated scheme by CBSE, each subject will have a maximum allocation of 100 marks, which will be distributed among theory, practical, project, and internal assessment components.
Practical exams commenced on February 15 this year. CBSE has emphasized the importance of schools completing the practical exams, projects, internal assessments, and uploading marks by March 31. They have made it clear that no further opportunities will be granted beyond this deadline. The practical exams were conducted between January 1 and February 15, 2024.
