The Government has appointed Manoj Ahuja as new Chairperson of CBSE. The Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has issued a notice regarding the appointment of new CBSE Chairman.
Manoj Ahuja is a 1990 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) batch officer from the Odisha cadre. Before taking over CBSE Chairman post, Manoj Ahuja is Special Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Department of Personnel and Training.

Manoj Ahuja, IAS, who has been appointed as new Chairperson of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), replaces Anita Karwal, IAS, who was appointed as the Secretary of Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The CBSE Chairman post has been lying vacant since April last week.
The CBSE Chairperson is the Chief Executive and assisted by 14 Heads of Departments - Secretary, Controller of Examinations, Director (Academics), Director (Training), Director (IT), Director (Misc. Examinations), Director (Edusat, Research & Development), Director (Skill Education), four Regional Directors, Director (Registered Office, Ajmer) and Director (Professional Examinations).
The official notice of DOPT reads "Manoj Ahuja, IAS (OR:90), Special Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Department of Personnel and Training as Chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government of India by temporary upgrading the post."
Earlier, HRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank interacted with students on May 5 and announced that the pending papers of CBSE board exams 2020 would be held between July 1 and 15, 2020. He also announced the exam dates of JEE Main and NEET UG 2020.
