CBSE Board Exam 2027: LOC Submission to Begin at cbse.gov.in on September 24

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 Main Board Examinations 2027. The LOC submission process will begin on September 24, 2026, and schools will be required to complete the process within the prescribed schedule.

The official CBSE examination circular for the 2026-27 session was issued on September 21.

CBSE Board Exam 2027: LOC Submission to Begin

The LOC is submitted by CBSE-affiliated schools, and only students whose names are successfully included in the online LOC will be eligible to appear for the main board examinations. Schools have been asked to carefully verify students' personal, academic and subject-related information before final submission.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Important Dates

The regular LOC submission window will remain open from September 24 to October 21, 2026 without a late fee. Schools that miss the regular deadline can submit the LOC during the late-fee period from October 22 to October 30, 2026, subject to the conditions prescribed by CBSE.

A separate schedule applies to schools opting for fee payment through challan, and schools should follow the method applicable to them.

CBSE Board Exam 2027 LOC: Details Required

Schools will have to enter and verify key details of candidates while submitting the LOC. These include the student's full name, date of birth, gender, category and the names of the father, mother or guardian with correct spellings. Subject-wise registration must also match the prescribed scheme of studies.

The school will additionally have to upload the candidate's photograph and signature in the format specified by CBSE. Schools have been advised to cross-check the information against their official records before finalising the LOC.

CBSE LOC 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria

Only eligible and bona fide students sponsored by CBSE-affiliated schools should be included in the LOC. Schools must ensure that students satisfy the applicable academic, subject and attendance requirements for appearing in the board examinations.

CBSE's examination rules generally require students to maintain the prescribed 75% attendance, subject to exemptions and conditions provided under the examination bye-laws. Schools must also ensure that the subjects entered in the LOC correspond with the subjects actually studied and the approved scheme of studies.

For Class 10, the September LOC is for the First Board Examination. CBSE has stated that the LOC for the Second Board Examination will be submitted separately after the first examination.

CBSE LOC Fee 2026-27

For schools in India, the examination fee for five subjects is ₹1,600 per candidate, while an additional subject carries a fee of ₹320. A late fee of ₹2,000 per candidate is applicable in addition to the regular examination fee during the late-submission period. For Class 12 students, a practical examination fee of ₹160 per practical subject is applicable in India.

How to Submit CBSE LOC 2027?

The LOC submission process will be completed by the school authorities through the CBSE online system. Schools should log in using their prescribed credentials, verify candidate and subject information, upload the required photographs and signatures, complete the fee payment and submit the LOC within the deadline.
