The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 is scheduled for November 24, 2024, and will be held in three sessions. This computer-based test will take place in over 135 cities across India. The scores from this exam are accepted by 21 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and various other MBA colleges in the country. This year, IIM Calcutta will conduct the exam.

To apply for CAT 2024, candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree with at least a 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA. For SC, ST, and PwD/DA categories, the minimum requirement is 45%. Final-year students or those awaiting results can also register. There is no upper age limit for applicants.
CAT Exam Structure and Fees
The CAT exam fee has increased this year. General category candidates need to pay INR 2,400, while reserved category candidates must pay INR 1,200. The exam will be conducted in three sessions:
- 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
- 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
- 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
The exam pattern includes three sections:
- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
- Quantitative Aptitude (QA)
Each section has a time limit of 40 minutes. The test comprises a total of 66 questions, with both MCQs and non-MCQs. Candidates earn three marks for each correct answer but lose one mark for each incorrect response.

To excel in CAT 2024, candidates should:

Candidates can register for CAT 2024 on the official website iimcat.ac.in. The registration process involves:

- Uploading Documents: Upload a passport-size photo and scanned signature.
- Selecting Preferences: Choose preferred IIMs and test cities.
- Paying the Application Fee: Use credit/debit cards or net banking to pay the fee.
Admit Card
The admit card is essential for appearing in the exam. Only registered candidates who have paid the fee can download it from the official website. It contains important details like the test center location and exam date.
The CAT answer key is usually released about a week after the exam. Candidates can challenge it if they find any discrepancies. The results are expected in the last week of December, with scorecards valid for one year.
