The notification for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 is expected to be released soon, providing important information on the syllabus, exam pattern, and admission process. Based on previous years, this notification will likely come in July, with the registration process commencing shortly thereafter.

Last year, IIM Lucknow was responsible for conducting the CAT exam. Reports suggest that this year, IIM Calcutta will take over the responsibility. The exam is anticipated to be held on the last Sunday of November, continuing the tradition from previous years. The official website for CAT 2024 is expected to go live in July, in line with past trends.
Eligibility Criteria
To register for CAT, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria. Last year, candidates needed to have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. For those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories, the minimum required percentage was 45%.
Additionally, students in their final year of a bachelor's degree or those who have completed their degree requirements but are awaiting results were also eligible to apply for CAT.
Admission Process
CAT scores are crucial for admission into postgraduate management programmes and fellow or doctorate programmes at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Besides the IIMs, several non-IIM member institutions also accept CAT scores for their admission processes.
The upcoming CAT 2024 notification will provide comprehensive details about the syllabus and exam pattern, essential for candidates to understand and prepare effectively. It is advisable for candidates to regularly check the official website for updates once it goes live in July.
