CAT 2024: IIM Calcutta Announces Key Changes and Exam Dates, Check Here

The Common Admission Test, preferably known as CAT has released the notification. IIM Calcutta will be accountable for the oversee of the CAT Exam 2024. According to the official notification, registration for the exam will begin on August 1, 2024. The last date to register is September 23, 2024. Interested and eligible candidates are supposed to register themselves within the given timeframe.

Eligibility and Application Details:

Candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% aggregate marks (or 45% for reserved categories) are eligible to apply. The examination fee is Rs 2,500 for general category candidates and Rs 1,250 for reserved category candidates. This year, applicants can select up to five cities for their preferred exam centers.

Changes in CAT 2024:

Several changes have been introduced for the CAT 2024 exam. The number of cities where the exam will be conducted has increased from 167 to 170. Additionally, while candidates could choose up to six cities last year, this year they can only select five.
The CAT exam comprises three sections: data interpretation and logical reasoning, verbal and reading comprehension, and quantitative aptitude. The question paper will include multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and type-in-the-answer (TITA) questions, with a total score of 198 marks.

Institutions Accepting CAT Scores:

CAT scores are widely accepted by 21 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and over 1,000 other institutions. Notable non-IIM business schools that accept CAT scores include FMS Delhi, SJMSoM IIT Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, DoMS IIT Delhi, and SPJIMR Mumbai.
