CAT 2014 scores are now applicable for new IIMs too

The online registration for CAT 2014 has started on Aug 6. CAT is conducted for admission to management programmes in IIMs and other top B-schools.

According to the latest information, CAT 2014 is also applicable for gaining admission to the 6 new IIMs which were proposed in the Union Budget 2014 in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Punjab.

The online registration video which is available in the CAT 2014 official website, mentioned that candidates can also apply for postgraduate programmes in the proposed 6 new IIMs.

Currently, there are 13 IIMs in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Kozhikode, Indore, Shillong, Tiruchirappalli, Raipur, Udaipur, Rohtak, Ranchi and Kashipur which accepts CAT scores for their admissions.

CAT 2014 website says, "In accordance with the Government of India's directive, it is hereby informed that the six new IIMs plan to commence their academic session from 2015-16. Hence, if you are interested to apply in the PGPs of any/all the following IIMs, you are advised to indicate the same in the given boxes."

Last date for the registration for CAT 2014 exam is September 30, 2014.
