CAT 2014 registrations from August 6, changes in exam pattern

CAT 2014 registrations from August 6

This year, the Common Admission Test (CAT) online registrations would commence from Aug 06.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore will be conducting body for CAT 2014 exam.

CAT 2014 examination will be held in two days, earlier it was conducted over a period of 22 days. There are changes in the CAT examination pattern.

IIM Indore Director, Professor Risihikesha T Krishnan would act as CAT 2014 Chairman, while professor Rohit Kapoor as the CAT 2014 convener.

CAT 2014 exam will be held in 354 centers of 99 cities. Candidates are allowed to choose exam cities given in three options.

What are the changes in the CAT exam pattern:

  • The duration of the exam time has been increased to 170 minutes (2 hours 50 min). Earlier it was 140 minutes. (CAT 2013 Test Duration and Test Pattern)
  • The questions in each section has been increased to 50 from the existing 30 questions.
  • Candidates can switch over from one section to another section at any point during the examination timing.
  • The tutorial will not be available before the start of the examination and the candidates are advised to do the tutorials from the website well in advance.

There are no changes in the examination syllabus.

Important dates:

  • Online registration will commence from Aug 8.
  • Registration will end on Sept 30.
  • Admit card will be available from Oct 16.
  • CAT 2014 exam would be held on Nov 16 and 22.
  • CAT results will be announced on 3rd week of December.
