CAT 2014: New negative marking for wrong answers

IIM Indore is all set to conduct Common Admission Test (CAT) 2014 on November 16 and 22, 2014. There are an change in marking the scheme for the examination.

According to a new marking system, candidates may attempt any section first. The questions can be answered out of sequence too. And the candidate can also toggle between sections and attempt questions. An on-screen timer will mark remaining minutes for the test.

Three (3) points will be awarded for each correct answer; one (1) point will be deducted for each wrong answer. There is no penalty for questions that are left unanswered.

For Correct answers:
For each correct answer 3 point will be added. The total score for CAT 2014 will be 300 since the total number of questions will be 100.

For wrong answers:
For each wrong answers / response, 1 point will be deducted, which implies one-third of negative marking.

CAT 2014 website will provide you the mock test to help the candidates for preparation. Candidates must have to know the how the CAT 2014 exam will be conducted through mock test.
