Calcutta University Recruitment 2019 For 213 Professors, Associate Professors And Asst. Professors

University of Calcutta, a public state university in Kolkata has invited applications from eligible and qualified candidates in a prescribed format for filling 213 vacancies to the posts of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in multiple departments/disciplines of the University. The application process towards the same starts from 13 February 2019 and closes on 15 March 2019.

The recruitment will be for various departments/disciplines comprising Anthropology, Applied Mathematics, Applied Psychology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology & Bio-informatics, Botany, Chemistry, Electronic Science, Genetics, Geography, Geology, Agricultural Science, Marine Science, Physics, Physiology, Psychology, Pure Mathematics, S. N. Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences, Statistics, Applied Zoology, Arabic & Persian, Bengali Language & Literature, Buddhist Studies, Comparative Indian Language and Literature, Economics, English Language and Literature, Hindi, Islamic History & Culture, Linguistics, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, South & Southeast Asian Studies, Urdu, Business Management and Commerce.

Age Criteria And Fees

Candidates interested in applying for the post of Professors, Associate and Asst. Professors through Calcutta University Recruitment 2019 must have attained 18 years of age and not exceeded 27 years, with relaxation in the upper age limit for reserved classes as per the rules of the Government of West Bengal.

Candidates must deposit a requisite amount of Rs. 500/- [(Gen/UR); Rs. 250/- OBC (A &B) and PWD candidates] as application fee in the form of a Demand Draft (DD) favouring University of Calcutta. SC/ST candidates are granted exemption from payment of application fee.

Educational Criteria And Experience

Desirous candidates applying for Professors, Associate and Asst. Professors through Calcutta University Recruitment 2019 must possess a PG Degree/PhD in the relevant Discipline/Subject that he/she is applying under from a University/Institute established by law and duly recognised by the UGC/State Government. He/she must have NET/SLET or equivalent qualification and desirable teaching experience.

Selection And Pay Scale

The selection of candidates as Professors, Associate and Asst. Professors through Calcutta University Recruitment 2019 will be done through an Interview and as per the rules of the Government of West Bengal.

Candidates selected as Professors, Associate and Asst. Professors will be paid as under:

Professors - Rs. 37,400/- to Rs. 67,000/- per month
Associate Professors - Rs. 37,400/- to Rs. 67,000/- per month
Assistant Professors - Rs. 15,600/- to Rs. 39,100/- per month
