Komal Kishor Jain from Mumbai topped the final CA exam and has secured the first rank in the country. The CA exam which was scheduled to be conducted in May 2020 was delayed and finally held in November 2020.

Komal Kishor Jain from Mumbai topped the final Chartered Accountant (CA) exam and has secured the first rank in the country with 600 marks out of 800. The CA exam which was scheduled to be conducted in May 2020 was delayed four times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and finally held in November 2020.

The 22-year-old topper has been an academic achiever throughout her life. She secured Rank 4 in the IPCC exam in 2017 and got 95.8 percent in class 10 and 94.42 percent in class 12. She has also completed three years of internship in articleship in tax and in finance.

Career Plans Of The CA Topper

Jain, who is a graduate of RA Poddar College of Commerce, Mumbai is keen to pursue her career in the corporate world. According to Jain, she is yet to finalise whether she will go for consultancy or for finance. Her father is also from a commerce background and is a retired accountant and her mother is a homemaker.

While speaking about the multiple postponements of the exam, Jain said that the delay in exams was challenging and it hampered the exam preparations.
Practicing mock tests and going through the study materials by the ICAI was very helpful in preparing for the exams.

"A CA student should have proper study planning and concept clarity about the topics. Besides hard work, patience and a positive attitude are a mantra to be successful and achieve our goals," said Jain.

Komal Jain also followed online YouTube videos to prepare for the exams during the lockdown. The online lectures were helpful for clearing her doubts.

Tips By CA Topper To Crack The Final CA Exams

CA Topper Komal Jain shared a piece of advice for the students who want to pursue their careers in Chartered Accountants. According to Jain, hard work is the key to success. "There are times when students feel disappointed due to the enormous hard work that the course demands. It feels bad when one sees others enjoy while they have to study hard. Eventually, hard work pays off. One must be focussed on the topics and develop conceptual clarity among themselves," said Jain.

This year, about 14.5% of 19,284 candidates cleared the final CA exam in both groups. The success rate of Group-I was 12.8% and Group-II was 31%. Over 32,000 students appeared in the final exam in Group-I, and 28,000 for Group-II.

Among the top three rankers of the All-India Chartered Accountancy (CA) final examination, Komal Jain stood first with 600 marks. The second rank was secured by Mudit Agrawal, who scored 589 marks and Rajvi Nathvani secured the third position with 587 marks.

In the previous year's exams as per the old syllabus, Essakiraj A, Supriya R, and Mayank Singh were among the top three rankers.
