The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which is a statutory body for regulating the profession of chartered accountancy in the country, is all set to launch a new job portal for chartered accountants. This exclusive job portal will be launched on September 1 to meet the rising demand for chartered accountants.
This rising demand has led to the doubling of campus placements over the last few years. As the demand for chartered accountants is increasing, the institute has decided to launch an exclusive portal for CAs.
The job portal will contain all the details of its members. It is also going to let candidates have a video curriculum vitae (CV), which gives the candidates an immense value. Interestingly, a member profile can be updated through LinkedIn, which is a professional networking site.
According to the sources, the information shared in this job portal will remain safe and will not be used for any commercial purpose. The Committee for Members in Business and Industry (CMI&B) is offering free registration and job postings till August 29, 2018. Currently, there are over 2.70 lakh members in ICSI with more than eight lakh active students.
How To Become A Chartered Accountant
Candidates who have completed 10+2 can start taking the Common Proficiency Test (CPT), which will be held twice a year. Students from all the streams can appear for this CPT; however, mathematics should be the mandatory subject at the 10+2 level.
Once the CPT is completed, the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) will start. Compared to CPT, IPCC is very difficult. After passing IPCC, a candidate can appear for the CA Finals, which is believed to be one amongst the toughest examinations in the country. By passing the CA Finals, one will become a chartered accountant. CA is a post-graduation title.
