With an alarming surge in COVID cases across the country, CBSE has postponed the Class 12 board exams and cancelled the Class 10 board exams. Considering the safety of students and teachers, several states started postponing the board exams scheduled between April and June. States like Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Haryana have cancelled and/or postponed the board exams. Jammu & Kashmir Board Exams Postponed
The JK Board has postponed the annual exams 2021. The new dates will be released after reviewing the situation.
Punjab Board Exams Postponed
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted, "Amid the continuing #Covid19 surge, it is unsafe for our children to take Board examinations. We have decided to promote all Class 5, 8 & 10 students without examinations. Class 12 State Board examinations have been postponed & will be conducted later once the situation improves."
Meghalaya Board Exams Postponed
Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma tweeted, "Reviewed the #COVID19 situation in the State. Govt. has decided that the MBOSE exams for Class XII will be held as scheduled. Health Dept. has been instructed to intensify efforts to execute the vaccination drive & also increase the number of vaccination centres."
Uttar Pradesh Board Exams Postponed
The CM Office, Uttar Pradesh tweeted, "In view of the COVID situation, schools from class 01 to class 12 should be suspended till May 15. No examination will be conducted during this period. The 10th and 12th examinations of the Secondary Education Council should be conducted after May 20:UP CM Mr Yogi Adityanath
Haryana Board Exams Postponed
DPR Haryana tweeted, "Big news: Haryana Board's 10th exam has been cancelled on the lines of CBSE. The state government has also postponed the examinations of class 12."
Odisha Board Exams Postponed
The Odisha Government has decided to postpone both Class 10th and Class 12th board exams in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Rajasthan Board Exams Postponed
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted, "In view of the second wave of Coronavirus, the State Government has decided to postpone the Class 10th and 12th board examinations to be conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer."

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank chaired the high-level meeting to review the examinations scheduled in the coming months in wake of rising COVID cases. The CBSE has postponed Class 12 exams scheduled to be conducted from May 4th to June 14th. It has cancelled the Class 10 board exams scheduled to be held from May 4th to June 7, 2021. The Board has also announced that students who are not satisfied with the marks allotted will be given an opportunity to sit in the exam as and when conditions are conducive to hold the exams.
