In a significant move to support students during their exam season, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced that all II PUC students can travel free on BMTC's ordinary buses to their examination centres. This facility can be availed by providing their hall or admission tickets. The initiative is aimed at easing the transportation facility for students taking the II PUC exams, scheduled from March 1 to 22.
Understanding the increased demand during this period, the BMTC has committed to operating all schedules and trips, with a special focus on those frequented by students. Additionally, the corporation plans to run extra trips based on the demand to facilitate smooth transportation for all examinees. This decision highlights the BMTC's dedication in supporting the student community during crucial academic periods.

Recognition for Outstanding Service
In a related development, the BMTC's Managing Director, R. Ramachandran, took a moment to appreciate the exceptional work of its staff. In a ceremony held on Wednesday, letters of appreciation alongside cash prizes were awarded to 10 conductors, six drivers, and two other staff members, acknowledging their hard work and integrity.
Among those celebrated were driver Trivena HN and conductor Ashok, who were recognized for their honesty in returning a passenger's lost bag having gold and important documents valued at Rs 70,000. Similarly, conductor Sangappa S Gabbur was commended for ensuring the safe return of an iPhone to passenger Nagendra S.
Technical staff Sudhakar BH and Chandrasekhara N received honour for their assistance in retrieving passenger Mohan Ramesh's laptop, valued at Rs 1 lakh. Moreover, driver Ranganath HM and conductor Saibanna were acknowledged for their integrity in returning a bag containing Rs 35,000 in cash and a mobile phone to its rightful owner.
The commendable actions of these BMTC employees not only reflect their personal integrity but also enhance the corporation's reputation for customer service and reliability. The BMTC's commitment to facilitating stress-free transportation for students during their exams, coupled with its recognition of employees' exemplary conduct, showcases its dedication to both its customers and staff.
