PhD Programme in Data Sciences For Global Health: The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) and the One Health Trust, both based in Washington, have collaborated to develop a PhD programme in Data Sciences for Global Health.

Applications for the doctoral programme have begun and will be accepted until March 31, 2023. The classes will begin in July 2023.
According to the official announcement, the programme will educate graduates and PGs on contemporary global health concerns and new cutting-edge research techniques, including rigorous fieldwork and data analysis. On the other hand, the full-time interdisciplinary degree will offer advanced education in global health and experience in qualitative and statistical/quantitative skills.
According to the statement, qualified individuals from various geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds will be admitted with no age restrictions. Students will take classes and perform research at both BITS Pilani in Hyderabad and the One Health Trust at Nimai Valley Center.
In addition, the faculty members have extensive research experience in infectious disease dynamics, antibiotic resistance, vaccines and immunisation, equity and livelihoods, environmental health, gender, health and development, health systems, and economics.
"The rigorous research and data analysis expertise of OHT will contribute to boost data-driven public health policy in the country considerably, and hence raise the levels of general well-being," said G Sundar, senior professor and director of BITS Pilani's Hyderabad Campus.
