The National Medical Commission (NMC) has rescheduled the NEET PG 2024 exam from July 7 to June 23, 2024. NEET PG is designed for students aspiring to pursue postgraduate medical studies. The deadline for completing the internship, crucial for eligibility, remains unchanged.

Originally planned for March 3, the exam date was shifted to July 7 due to requests from numerous applicants. Subsequently, the NMC decided on June 23 for the examination. Results will be announced on July 15, followed by counselling starting from August 5 to August 10. The Commission has set August 15, 2024, as the internship cut-off date for NEET PG 2024 eligibility. Candidates are urged to stay updated with the latest information on the official website - nmc.org.in.
The primary feature of the proposal is the introduction of a four-year undergraduate (UG) program, encompassing both Honours and Research tracks, termed as UG Honours and UG Honours with Research, in alignment with NEP 2020. According to BHU, these programs aim to foster the holistic development of students, molding them into conscientious citizens.
Students who complete UG Honours with Research will be eligible for the PhD program without the need for a postgraduate degree. The proposed program offers students the flexibility to select minor courses from a wide array of options. Additionally, all undergraduate students will be required to undertake credits in Multidisciplinary Courses, Skill Enhancement Courses, Ability Enhancement, Value Added Courses, as well as internships. Those pursuing honours with research will also undertake a dissertation in their final semester.
