BHU Recruitment For Post Doctoral Fellow

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has invited applications for the position of Post Doctoral Fellowship in the field of Social Sciences for a period of two years, with a monthly entitlement/salary of Rs 28,000/- per month alongside a contingency pay of Rs 2000/- annually. The fellowship is offered under Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair at the BHU for carrying a detailed study and research on the topic 'Integral Humanism: With Special Reference to Contemporary Development Issues in India'.

The applicant must hold a PhD degree in any one discipline/subject - Political Science, Economics or Sociology falling in the realm of Social Sciences, and must not have exceeded 45 years of age, the notification stated. Interested candidates must apply on or before January 05, 2019 failing which the applications will not be entertained.

Selection Process

The selection to the Post Doctoral Fellowship will be based on a written examination and interview. The selected candidate will work under the guideship and supervision of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

The candidate should not pursue or carry the same PhD work in his/her Post-Doctoral research and must be engaged in full-time research in the assigned new field/area running for a period of 2 years. He/she should contribute towards the theoretical and conceptual advancement in diverse disciplines by generating field-based empirical data. In the course of research, the Post-Doctoral Fellow will be provided with a contingency grant of Rs. 2000/- pa for meeting expenses involving field work, stationery, books, and other miscellaneous aspects of the research.
