BFUHS Counselling 2017 Schedule has been published and here is how you can check it out
An official notification has been released regarding the online counselling at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot.
Nursing course admission
The online counselling for admission to a nursing course will be held on July 20.
Entrance exam for nursing
All the admissions and counselling process to nursing course is being carried out through the Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPMET-2017).
Number of candidates
In total 1,596 candidates will vie for 975 seats in 109 colleges across the state.
After the PPMET-2017 results were declared, out of 3,500 candidates only 46 per cent (1,596 cleared the exam). According to an official, "There are numerous vacant seats in nursing and not many could pass. Unfortunately, eventually all students get admissions. Students should get admissions on their merit."

On the availability of seats, BFUHS V-C Dr Raj Bahadur in recent report said, "Nursing colleges must reduce the number of seats and concentrate on ensuring better training." In private nursing colleges, 15 per cent seats are reserved for NRI candidates in private nursing colleges and 50 per cent quota is for management seats. At private colleges, the annual fee is Rs 40,000 as compared to Rs 12,000 in government colleges.
