Two Exceptional Training Opportunities

Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES):

  • A one-year residential training program conducted at BARC Training Schools in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
  • Successful completion qualifies trainees for positions in 12 DAE units, along with an HBNI Post Graduate Diploma, which may contribute credits to advanced M.Tech. or Ph.D. programs.

DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme (DGFS):

  • A two-year fellowship program designed for top-performing engineering graduates selected through OCES interviews.
  • Fellows receive tuition fee reimbursement and stipends while pursuing M.Tech. at leading institutes like IIT Madras and IIT Bombay.
  • The program integrates DAE-related project work and mentorship, preparing participants for high-impact roles.

Financial Benefits

OCES Trainees:

  • Monthly stipend: ₹74,000.
  • One-time book allowance: ₹30,000.

DGFS Fellows:

  • M.Tech. tuition fee reimbursement.
  • Annual contingency grant: ₹60,000 for two years.
  • Project funding: Up to ₹4 lakh for equipment and consumables.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates from diverse disciplines, including Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Bioscience, are encouraged to apply.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Engineering: B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engineering)/Five-Year Integrated M.Tech.
  • Science: M.Sc./Integrated M.Sc.

Age Limit:

  • 18-26 years (as of August 1, 2025), with relaxations for reserved categories.
  • Candidates awaiting final results or graduating in 2024-25 can also apply.

Selection Process

Screening Channels:

  • Online Exam: Scheduled for March 8-9, 2025.
  • GATE Scores: Valid for 2023-2025.
  • Direct Selection: Based on academic performance from select institutions.

Interview Process:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed between May 19 and June 13, 2025.
  • Final selection is based on interview performance.
