In a note, Bangalore University has decided to give the marks card of each candidate with their photograph.
Earlier, BU had decided to give marks with photograph like SSLC marks card, but it remained stagnant. Now, according to the University of Grants Commission (UGC) directive, the University has decided to issue marks card with photograph.
This will apply to all degree, diploma and Ph.D certificates. Photograph will be slotted at different locations in each card. The degree marks card will have a photograph at bottom left of the card. But, for diploma and Ph.D is not finalised yet.
The UGC directive by secretary Jaspal S Sandhu said, "All universities recognised by UGC should adopt the above procedure while issuing marks sheets to students so that it can avoid bogus documents and fake marks sheets."
As per the reports, to avoid fake marks card rampant in the state. In last one year, police had arrested many people for fake certificates rampant, and these certificates were sold for Rs 30,000/- to Rs 1.2 lakh.
