Bangalore University has announced the first, third and fifth semester examination results of undergraduate courses in various disciplines without Internal Assessment (IA) marks.
University had conducted the semester examinations in November 2013.
Thousands of students have not received the results, due to the negligence by the colleges affiliated to the University in submitting the IA marks.
According to the University, all the affiliated colleges had to submit the IA marks of the students before commencing the theory examinations. They have failed to do so.
University had already announced the first and third semester of B.Com, but many of the students have not got the results.
According to the University officials, many of the affiliated colleges have not sent the IA marks to the University. Without those marks, the University can not generate the results.
Dr Ninge Gowda, Registrar (Evaluation) of BU said, "We have marked such students' results as NP (not processed). Once we receive the IA marks we will announce the results."
The results of the 16,000 students could not be processed due to the unavailability of the IA marks.
"As per the ordinance, colleges must submit the IA marks to University before the theory examination starts. But they don't bother to do so," said Ninge Gowda.
University has issued a notice to all the affiliated colleges to pay the penal fee of Rs 10,000/- per student, for submitting the IA marks late.
"Regarding this we need to discuss with the Vice-Chancellor and the issue will be placed before the syndicate meeting," said Ninge Gowda.
