B-Schools in India records 100% placement with 10-25% increase

This year, B-Schools in India have achieved 100% placement record with an increase of 10-25% in salaries.

Similarly, in the year 2008, Indian B-schools had achieved 100% in placements.

As per the reports, around 219 students from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, were placed in two weeks from 69 companies. The institute said that the foreign offers moved up to 13, with the highest salary offer $110,000 per annum, by an US based company. The highest domestic salary was Rs 24 lakh per annum.

About 50% increase is seen in the number of firms that provided pre-placement offers (PPOs) at Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon. The companies that offered PPOs include JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Colgate-Palmolive, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, HSBC, Citibank and Dabur, among others.

Chairperson Placements, MDI Gurgaon, Kanwal Kapil said, "This year, we saw an increase of 15% salary in comparison to the Rs 14.74 lakh package last year".

At Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad, around 50% of the batch was placed on day zero, and 80% of the batch was placed within the first week of placements.

With unparalleled interest and support from companies across industries and verticals, be it automobiles, manufacturing and FMCG, students of the 2014-15 batch have been snapped up by large consulting firms, including Deloitte, KPMG and Ernst & Young, top pharma companies, big names from the corporate world like Microsoft, Google, Snapdeal L'Oreal and Café Coffee Day.

IMT official said that, the institute has witnessed a visit of over 90 companies from various sectors to the IMT campus. The highest domestic packages were Rs. 23 lakh per annum and average package was Rs. 10 lakh.

IMT Institute has received highest a pay package for its PGDM (Executive ) programme with a Rs 19 lakh per annum.

Over 170 companies have made pre-placement offers at NMIMS School of Business Management, Mumbai. The vice-provost (management education) & Dean-SBM, Debashish Sanyal said that the performance was exceptional.

He said, "Over 170 PPOs/PPIs has been received on account of exemplary performance by students during their internships, and the number of confirmed accepted offers would be around 110."

At other B-schools like SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMER), Mumbai, officials said, while the final placement process is yet to begin; the number of PPOs has been better than last year.
