The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) Assam has opened its doors to a massive hiring drive, seeking to recruit 4,500 teachers for primary schools across the state. This significant recruitment effort aims to strengthen the education system by filling crucial teaching positions in both lower and upper primary schools.

- Lower Primary Schools: 2,900 Assistant Teacher positions
- Upper Primary Schools: 1,600 positions, including Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers

Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Completion of the Assam Teachers' Eligibility Test (ATET) or Central Teachers' Eligibility Test (CTET), depending on the level they are applying for.
- Language Proficiency: The medium of instruction in the applied school must align with the language in which the candidate passed ATET or CTET.
- Age Requirement: Candidates should be between 18 and 40 years old.
- Merit-Based Selection: The DEE Assam will prepare distinct district-wise and category-wise merit lists, considering the candidate's academic performance in Higher Secondary (or equivalent), graduation, Diploma in Education, and TET scores.
Notable Eligibility Clause: The Two-Child Policy
A striking condition in this recruitment process is the two-child policy. Candidates with more than two living children born after January 1, 2021, will be deemed ineligible, reinforcing the state's stance on family planning.
