The official notice reads, "In view of the prevailing situation of COVID-19 in Assam, it has been decided to postpone the Class 10 or HSLC/AHM Examination 2021, scheduled to be held from May 11, 2021. The revised schedule of the said examination shall be announced shortly after consultation with the Health Department, Govt of Assam."
Earlier, several students of Class 10 and Class 12 have urged the Assam government to either postpone or cancel the board exams as the conditions are not conducive to hold the exams. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has postponed the Higher Secondary (HS) 1st-year exams 2021 till further notice. Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on April 17 has asked the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) and AHSEC to review the situation and take a decision regarding postponement or cancelling the board exams within the next 10 days.
