ASB exploring educational tie-ups with Columbus State University

Thiruvananthapuram, April 25: Asian School of Business (ASB), one of south India's leading business schools, is exploring academic collaborations and potential student exchange programmes with the Columbus State University (CSU) in the US.

A high-level delegation from the CSU, a public university based in the state of Georgia, visited ASB on Wednesday (April 23) and held discussions with ASB Director Prof. S Rajeev and other members of the faculty on possible areas of partnership.

The CSU delegation was led by the President of the University Dr Timothy S. Mescon and included the Director of Graduate and Global Recruitment Mrs Kristen Williams Griffin, and Chief Information Officer of the University Information and Technology Services Mr Abraham George.

The team is in India to look at partnership opportunities with reputed Indian institutions for student exchange and India study-abroad programmes.

ASB already has a student exchange programme with Kansas University in the US. As a part of the tie-up, a team from the Kansas Business School and the School of Engineering visits India and attends a short course on "Business in Emerging Markets" along with the ASB students every year in December. The KU students are also taken on industrial visits to manufacturing units in traditional sectors such as cashew and coir, as well as in the IT and the automobile industry.

The CSU team also visited the Trivandrum International School (TRINS) and held discussions with the Principal and Teachers and also spoke to students looking to pursue higher studies in the US.
