Arunachal Pradesh Govt to set up two universities

The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has approved the proposals for establishing two universities to boost the state's higher education system.

 

The state Cabinet under Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Saturday approved the proposals for establishing Arunoday University in the city and another private university at Aalo in West Siang district, government spokesman Nabum Rebia said in a statement.

The proposal to amend sub-section (2) of section 3A of the Societies Registration (Extension to Arunachal Pradesh) Act, 1978 providing for extension from 1 year to 3 years has also been approved by the Cabinet, he said.

Further, it was decided to bring in the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Bill, 2004, Rebia added.
