The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has invited applications from Indian nationals for filling 148 vacancies comprising of Assistant Engineers, Agriculture Development Officers, and Research Assistants under various departments of the State government. The applications to all positions must be submitted by 08 February 2019.

Candidates seeking application for various posts should have attained 21 years and not exceeded 38 years as on 01 January 2018, with a relaxation of 5 years (up to 43-years) for SC/ST candidates, 3 years (up to 41 years) for OBC/MOBC candidates and 10 years for PWD candidates.

The recruitment of Assistant Engineers will be for the civil, mechanical, electrical and chemical sections under the Dept. of Public Health Engineering of the Assam government, while selection of Agriculture Officers will be under the Dept. of Agriculture. Research Assistants (RAs) will be recruited under Dept. of Urban Development for the Directorate of Town and Country Planning.

Educational Credentials And Pay Scale

Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical)- Candidates applying for these posts must hold a BE degree in the relevant disciplines from an Indian or Foreign University duly recognised by the government, or by the Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE).

Candidates selected as AE's under various sections will be paid a salary of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- per month with basic pay of Rs. 12,700/-.

Agricultural Development Officer (ADO) - Candidates applying for this post must have qualified BSc in Agriculture or an equivalent degree from a recognized University.

Candidates selected as ADO's will be paid an emolument of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- per month with a grade pay of Rs. 12,700/-

Research Assistant (RA) - Candidates applying for this post must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline with Geography/Economics/Statistics/Sociology/Mathematics as one of their subjects.

Selected candidates will be paid an emolument of Rs. 22,000/- to Rs. 87,000/- per month with a grade pay of Rs. 9,100/-

Application Fee And Selection Procedure

All candidates are supposed to pay an application fee of Rs. 250/- (For General) and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC categories. However, candidates possessing a BPL certificate are granted exemption from payment of fees which needs to be submitted (copy) along with the application form.

The prescribed fees should be deposited only through a Treasury Challan (TC). It should be named in the Head of Account entitled "NON TAX REVENUE, OTHER NON TAX REVENUE 0051 PSC, 105 STATE PSC APPLICATION FEE RECEIPT OF APSC" and must contain the post name and department applied under. PWD candidates are also exempted from payment of fees.

The original receipt of the Treasury Challan (TC) must be submitted along with the application form.

The selection of candidates to various positions will be based on either their academic credentials or based on written examination followed by an interview as per the discretion of APSC.
