APAAR ID Mandatory for NEET UG 2025: Know How to Register if You Don't Have One

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is revolutionizing the NEET UG 2025 examination process by introducing the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, security, and efficiency, streamlining the application and verification processes for aspiring medical students.

NEET UG 2025 Registration Using APAAR ID

Mandatory Aadhaar and APAAR ID Integration

To apply for NEET UG 2025, candidates must link their Aadhaar with an APAAR ID and ensure their Aadhaar details match those on their Class 10 mark sheets. The NTA has emphasized linking Aadhaar with a valid mobile number to enable seamless verification. This requirement aligns with the government's "One Nation, One Student ID" initiative under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, designed to simplify and secure student identification.

What Is the APAAR ID?

The APAAR ID is a unique 12-digit identifier serving as a digital academic repository for students across India. It securely stores academic records, including scorecards, grade sheets, and certificates. By integrating APAAR ID with NEET UG 2025, the NTA aims to ensure accurate and efficient processing during registration, attendance, and identity verification.

How to Obtain an APAAR ID?

  • Prerequisite: A valid Aadhaar card and access to DigiLocker.

Steps:

  • Create an account on DigiLocker.
  • Complete e-KYC verification with Aadhaar details.
  • Submit academic information through the Academic Bank of Credit website.
  • Receive the APAAR ID card upon successful registration.

For minors, parental consent is mandatory during this process.

Examination Process

The Aadhaar-APAAR integration will simplify registration, improve data accuracy, and enable faster attendance verification. Leveraging technology like facial recognition will enhance security measures, ensuring a transparent examination experience.

The NTA has announced that NEET UG 2025 applications will open soon, with detailed guidelines to be shared on the official website: neet.nta.nic.in.
