AP, TS to seek Supreme Court permission

The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states have filed a petition with the Supreme Court seeking permission to conduct EAMCET 2014 engineering counselling.

AP, HRD Minister, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the state government would be filing the review petition challenging the SC order which denied them permission to conduct second round of engineering counselling in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. [No 2nd round of EAMCET 2014 Engineering Counselling]

The Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) has decided to seek permission from SC to hold counselling. More than 65,000 engineering seats are lying vacant in the engineering colleges of AP and TS. [AP and TS governments to scrap EAMCET]

Speaking to reporters, Ganta said he had discussion with officials of both AP and TS and the state governments have decided to file a review petition.

The centre has constituted a committee for setting up pf IIIT in Kurnool, IIT in Tirupathi, NIT in West Godavari and IIM in Visakhapatnam. The committee members are visiting these places on September 18 and 19, 2014 to study the infrastructure facilities.
