AP students want to study in Telangana, appear for EAMCET: Minister

In a view of issue on EAMCET entrance exam, Telangana Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy said that if any of the Andhra Pradesh students wants to study in Telangana colleges, should have to appear for the EAMCET exam, which is conducted by its government.

In a meeting with the education ministers of AP and TS at Delhi. Reddy said, "As per the AP Reorganisation Act, we have the right to conduct the EAMCET entrance exam for both states."

Reddy also stated that Andhra Pradesh government has issued the EAMCET notification without consulting the Telangana government.

Meanwhile, AP HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the Central government have to intervene and solve the issue.

He also said that AP government is empowered to hold the EAMCET exam for both states. They will approach the court to resolve the issue.

Earlier, Governor ESL Narasimhan has directed the both states to solve the issue.
