YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister, has granted his assent to begin a comprehensive recruiting process to fill all existing vacancies in Universities and IIITs regularly.

The Chief Minister authorised the Education Department to fill 2635 Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor seats in universities, as well as 660 equivalent jobs in IIITs, during a review meeting held at the Camp Office here on Thursday. It should be noted that the government has previously filled 51,000 vacancies in the Medical and Health Department.
According to Jagan Mohan Reddy, universities will function best if they have regular teaching staff. "We should fill existing university vacancies regularly," he stated.
To ensure quality education for pupils, the Chief Minister stated that the selection process must be done only on merit.
"We have completed the appointment of 1.30 lakh staff members in village and ward secretariats flawlessly. The appointment of faculty in universities and IIITs should also be expedited in the same manner," he said.
Officials proposed that candidates already on contract be given a maximum of 10 weightage marks at a rate of one mark each year. The APPSC will issue a notification to fill the positions on August 23, and an online examination will be held in the third and fourth weeks of September. The results would be announced on October 10, and the final list, after interviews, would be announced on November 15.
