Amity University Gurugram Celebrates 11th Convocation Ceremony With Graduates And Honorees

Amity University Gurugram celebrated its 11th Convocation Ceremony on February 8, 2025, awarding degrees to 1528 graduates and honouring distinguished individuals. The event underscored the university's commitment to academic excellence and inspired new graduates to pursue their aspirations.

Amity University Gurugram recently celebrated the achievements of its students during the 11th Convocation Ceremony held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on February 8, 2025. This event marked a significant moment for 1528 graduands and 78 PhD graduates, symbolizing the culmination of their hard work and dedication. The ceremony, embellished with the presence of proud parents, esteemed faculty, and a selection of distinguished guests, was a testament to the university's commitment to academic excellence. The highlight of the occasion was the Academic Procession, accompanied by the Rajputana Rifle Band, showcasing a blend of excellence and tradition.

Amity University Gurugram Holds 11th Convocation Ceremony

During this grand ceremony, honorary doctorates were awarded to individuals who have significantly contributed to various sectors, including corporate leadership and medical sciences. Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin, renowned for pioneering liver transplantation in India, received the Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa. Mr. Sreenivasa Reddy Sunkara of Google India and Mr. Anil Agrawal, CEO of Airox Nigen Equipments, were both honored with the Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil.) Honoris Causa for their notable achievements in technology and engineering, respectively. Additionally, Prof. Andrew M. Lynn was awarded an Honorary Professorship for his exceptional research in bioinformatics and computational biology.

The conferral of degrees to students was a celebration of their perseverance and academic achievements. Dr. Aseem Chauhan, the Chancellor of Amity University Gurugram, in his address, highlighted the importance of continuous learning and striving for excellence. He inspired the graduates by stating, "We at Amity think that this is only the start of a lifetime quest for greatness. Even in the face of the greatest obstacles, everything is possible if you put in the necessary effort and hard work. Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin shared his journey of performing the country's first successful adult and pediatric liver transplants in 1998, emphasizing the role of teachers and teamwork in overcoming challenges. He mentioned, "one is nothing, if not for their teachers," showcasing the impact of mentorship and collaboration in medical advancements. Mr. Sreenivasa Reddy Sunkara credited Amity University for his leadership skills and encouraged the new graduates to face challenges boldly.
