Amazon.in and NCERT Collaborate to Launch a Comprehensive Online Store for K-12 Books

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is embarking on an ambitious initiative to significantly increase its textbook publication, aiming to print an impressive 15 crore (150 million) books this year. This announcement was made by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during a ceremony that marked the signing of a Letter of Engagement (LoE) between NCERT and Amazon.

This strategic partnership ensures that NCERT textbooks will be sold at their Maximum Retail Price (MRP) throughout India, enhancing accessibility for students while also guaranteeing the authenticity of the educational materials.

"Quality education and ease of living are essential for building a strong and developed nation. This collaboration between NCERT and Amazon India represents a significant step towards ensuring that students and educators have access to genuine, affordable resources. He emphasized that by making NCERT textbooks available through Amazon.in, millions of students across India can pursue their education more conveniently and without barriers.

In addition to benefiting individual students, this collaboration also aims to streamline the process for bulk orders, making it easier for government bodies and educational institutions to procure large quantities of books. NCERT's strategy includes employing designated distribution vendors who will work alongside Amazon's sellers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of these textbooks.
