AICTE, Education Ministry Launch Project eSaksham To Train Students In Cyber Security

The project named ‘eSaksham’ will focus on developing skills in Cyber Security awareness for students and teachers. The project has been launched by the Ministry of education along with AICTE and CyberPeace Foundation.

The Ministry of Education, along with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and CyberPeace Foundation (CPF) have launched a digital training programme for five lakh students and teachers. The project named 'eSaksham' will focus on developing skills in Cyber Security awareness for students and teachers.

The digital project aims at building a community where the internet strengthens rather than becoming a weakness. It focuses on making the youth industry ready and creating an ecosystem that is secured and where research work can be changed into market-ready products.

The eSaksham digital training programme will be conducted at four levels- Level 1 will be an online workshop on the basic concepts of navigating cyberspace. The two-hour-long workshop will include cyber security, netiquette, and introduction to new technologies. In Level 1, a total of five lakh participants will be trained.

Level 2 will be a four-day-long workshop for the candidates qualified in the assessment test after Level 1. It will be conducted for 25,000 participants.

Level 3 will be conducted for 5,000 shortlisted participants, who will undergo training that will include IoT security, blockchain, cloud security, and infrastructure security.

Level 4, the final level will be for 500 candidates who will go through a month long intensive training session which will be held in collaboration with the government, industry, and academia.

Prof. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairperson of AICTE launched the programme in virtual mode on 17 May 2021. The launch was attended by Buddha Chandrasekhar (Chief Coordinating Officer of AICTE), Captain Vineet Kumar (Founder and President, CyberPeace Foundation), and Lieutenant General (Dr) Rajesh Pant (Retd), National Cyber Security Coordinator (NCSC). The candidates will get a certificate from AICTE on successfully completing the programme.
