The Bar Council of India (BCI) has postponed the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 2020. AIBE 2020 exam scheduled to be held on August 16 was postponed due to the rising numbers of Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the country. The written exam was postponed due to frequent lockdowns to contain its spread. According to the official sources, the exam authority has also extended the date for receipt of application from candidates till August 31, 2020.

The official website reads, "Keeping in view the present pandemic (COVID-19) situation and frequent lockdown, increasing number of corona patients daily, the council has resolved to postpone the All India Bar Examination to be held on August 16 and it has further resolved to extend the date of receipt of applications from candidates till August 31 (for the present)."
It also reads, "The registrations for AIBE-XV has been extended till 31.08.2020 as per the resolution dated 29.07.2020. The revised date for the examination will be notified later as per the decision of the Honorable Monitoring Committee. Kindly click here for registrations."
AIBE is a national level exam conducted to practice law. It is an examination which a lawyer needs to pass within two years of his enrollment into the rolls of the Bar Council.
