AI B. Tech Program to Begin at IIT Khagarpur
This academic session commemorates the introduction of a four-year BTech program in artificial intelligence (AI) at IIT-Kharagpur, the nation's oldest IIT. The first of the Big Five IITs to offer an AI course is IIT-Kharagpur, which is resuming its BTech program after a twenty-year hiatus. The institute is already in the process of expanding its lab space and equipment.

A four-year BTech program in Artificial Intelligence has been launched at IIT Kharagpur. The program gives students a competitive edge in the employment market by covering a wide range of AI subjects and applications.
There will be a 30-student initial intake cap and entrance to the course will be via JEE Advanced. IIT Kharagpur has announced that all of its students will take an AI course, and it also offers an M.Tech and an interdisciplinary dual degree (M.Tech) in AI.
The mathematical, algorithmic, and architectural foundations of machine learning are explored throughout the course. Since artificial intelligence has been developed and modified in these two primary verticals, the fourth component will be focused on AI in language and AI in images. The main focus of the fifth component will be on the application of AI in various sectors, such as Manufacturing, Finance, Healthcare, and Agriculture.
IIT-Kharagpur is set to be the first of the five major IITs to offer the course, while lesser IITs, such as IIT-Patna and IIT-Guwahati, currently offer a B. Tech program in artificial intelligence.
