Thapar University invites applications for BE in Computers programme

Thapar University, Patiala invites applications for its BE in Computer Engineering programme for the academic year 2014. Eligible students can apply online by logging on to the official website of the university.

• BE Computer Engineering (Honors in Computer Animation and Gaming)

BE Computer Engineering (Honors in Machine Learning and Data Analytics):

This Programme's objectives are to produce specialised students with the skills to meet the latest industry needs. Apart from the core courses of Computer Engineering students will be studying courses in Machine Learning,
Probabilistic Graph Models, Data Mining and Knowledge Management, Data Science, Data Analysis, Natural Language Processing, Complex System Analysis, Big Data, Cloud Infrastructure and Services, Web Intelligence and Information Retrieval.

BE Computer Engineering (Honors in Computer Animation and Gaming):

The course will produce specialised engineers for working in the film, animation and gaming industry. Apart from the core courses of computer Engineering, students will study Model Creation, Game Design and Development, Game Engine and Architecture, Game Production, Animation Production, Character Rigging and Animation, Virtual Reality, Sound Design, Multiplayer Game Environments, Model Creation, User Centered Design, Cinematography and Game Physics. There is a huge demand of such professionals by media, education and
entertainment industry.

BE Computer Engineering started in 1992. Current intake is 180 students. Computer Engineering Programme consists of major core subjects like Programming Language, Discrete Mathematics, Operating Systems,Computer Architecture and Organisation, Database Management Systems, Big Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Software Project Management, Data Structures and Algorithms, Compiler Construction, Human Computer Interaction etc. In addition students study different subjects of science, management, environment and liberal arts to be a complete engineer ready to serve the society.
