St Stephen's offers admission for UG programmes

The St Stephen's College will have written tests for admission into most of its courses. The 30-minute written aptitude test will be held before the interviews.

The selection of the candidates will be based on the basis of composite merit, which will include class XII marks (with 85% weightage), aptitude test (assigned 5% weightage) and interview (10% weightage).

Candidates who attend the interview during the pre-lunch session, have to appear for the written test, conducted at 7:30 am whereas the candidates appearing for interviews after lunch-time have to write the test at 1:30 pm.

Each department is involved in preparing the question papers so that every discipline may have a test.

According to officials, " Board marks cannot be the indicator of the students' aptitude. Last year, over 3,500 students with 95% plus marks applied for the Economics course, which had 50 seats. Since the cut-offs are already steep, a specific tool for assessment will help filter the shortlist better."

Candidates seeking admission into St Stephen's College, which is affiliated to the Delhi University (DU), need to apply separately.

St Stephen's follows its independent admission policy although it confirms to the registration/admission schedule as specified by DU.
