Panjab University to fill vacant engineering seats

Panjab University is all set fill the vacant engineering seats in colleges affiliated to the university. More than 150 engineering seats are lying vacant.

Joint Admission Committee (JAC) said that these seats should be filled manually, and that physical counselling should not conducted. The classes for the session has already started.

PU, Vice-Chancellor Run K Grover, has to take the decision on filling the seats. Institutes have to allot seats to the students according to the merit. The students who had already admitted to the colleges can also opt seats.

According to the sources, the students who have admitted in the University of Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) may choose seats in UIET, PU Chandigarh and PEC University of Technology.

"We have made some recommendations to the vice chancellor, but will follow the final decision taken by him," SSGRC director Harminder Singh Bains said.
