Orient Flight School Opens Admission to Commercial Pilots Course

Orient Flight School - one of India's oldest and premier Flying School in the private sector has announced the dates for the admission to the Commercial Pilot License Course for the Academic Year 2016 - 2017.

Eligible candidates can apply for the Commercial Pilot License Course which makes them eligible to take up a flying career with any commercial airliner on completion of their course. An added advantage for those who sign up for the Commercial Pilot License can also obtain UGC approved B. Sc (Aviation) degree from Hindustan University, Chennai.

Orient Flight School offers hands on flight training facilities for aspiring pilots in India. Candidates can enroll for training for the two year Commercial Pilot License, 6 months Private Pilot license or the beginners course for Student pilot license courses depending on their skill, interest and qualifications.

Now students have the convenience of pursuing their dream career at one of the two venues convenience to them - Puducherry(Orient Flight School, OFS) or Mysuru (Orient Flight Aviation Academy, OFAA). Across Both locations Orient Flights offers the best in class teaching facilities, State of the art training labs and hands on flying experience for all aspirants who wish to take up flying as a career.

OFAA is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Established in 2015, OFAA operates in Mysuru with its sister concern Orient Flight School at Puducherry which has been in existence since 1994 and has trained hundreds of pilots.

The flight training at OFAA meets international standard in accordance with regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. OFAA has fleet of 3 Cessna 172 aircrafts. The Fleet strength is set to increase in the near future.

All class rooms are equipped with modern training facilities located in the Administrative complex of the School. The Complex also hosts a Simulator Lab, The Operations Wing at the Airport complex has a Flight Briefing cum Class room where Pre Flight medical tests are also carried out.

Eligibility

Candidates who are 16 years of age or older and who have completed their 12th Standard School education or equivalent with Mathematics and Physics are eligible to apply for the Commercial Pilot License Course. This is a two year course requiring a minimum of 200 hours of flying time for flight training. On ground training for DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation) Examinations will also be undertaken during the course period covering subjects such as, Air Regulations Air Navigation; Aircraft and Engines; Radio Telephony etc.

The Course also includes training on a modern Flight Simulator - French Manufactured ALSIM AL - 50 for visual flying, Instrument flying and practice of "upset prevention and recovery training(UPRT) Completion of this CPL will make the candidates eligible for taking up a career as Commercial Pilot with all leading aircraft operators.

Passion for Flying

For those who wish to take up flying as a passion, the school also offers a 6 month course that will equip them to fly a plane with a valid License - Private Pilot License candidates who are 16 years or older and who have completed their 10th Standard of school studies are eligible to apply for this course.

Training for this course involves a minimum of 50 hours from Flight Training. Students will also be given on ground training for DGCA(Director General of Civil Aviation) Examinations covering the following subjects including - Air Regulation; Air Navigation; Aviation Meteorology Radio Telephony, to name a few.

Orient Flight School, also offers Students Pilot License program - a beginners course in flying. Students joining this course will be eligible for getting a getting a Student Pilot License on completion of this course. Student Pilot License program is open for students who are 16 years of age and who have completed their 10th standard exams.

The advantage of this program is that students can take this up on a part time basis even while in School buy or during a holiday season. This course will also act as a preparatory module which enable him to get a commercial flying license on successful completion of his 12th standard school examination.

The main advantage in offering this program is that the aspiring pilots need not wait for a period of 2 years after completion of their 12th standard schooling and can get it done during the two years of study on completion of his 10th standard schooling. This will then act as a preparatory module which is mandatory for the Commercial Pilot license.

In addition to the above courses Orient Flight School also offers the Pilot Orientation Program for flying enthusiasts. This is a three months special course designed by Orient Flights Aviation Academy (OFAA), Mysore to enable students take the first step towards acquiring their Commercial Pilot License or Private Pilot License.

This course has been designed as a first stage of acquiring PPL or CPL and pursuing their career in aviation. The hours flown by the student during this course would be counted towards their respective Pilot License program
