JoSAA Counselling: JoSAA Important Dates And Counselling Procedure

JEE Advanced 2018 results will be released on June 10. After the announcement of the JEE Advanced results, the immediate focus of the students will be on the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). This counselling body was set up by the HRD Ministry and is responsible for the joint seat allocation for an admission to the 100 institutes that include 23 IITs, 23 IIITs, 31 NITs and 23 Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

All the candidates who appeared for JEE Main 2018 or JEE Advanced 2018 have to register online and make their choice of institute/branch between June 15 and 25, 2018. Candidates who appeared in JEE Main 2018 are eligible to register for a seat in institutes other than the IITs. However, candidates who have qualified in JEE Advanced 2018 can register for seat allocation in all participating institutes.

The website, Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2018 (josaa.nic.in), was launched recently. It was also stated in the press release that a total of 11,279 seats are being offered in the IITs, which is an increase of 291 seats from 2017. Here is the JoSAA 2018 schedule.
