Jadavpur University Admissions 2018 Open For BA Courses: Check Entrance Exam Dates!

Jadavpur University has opened admissions for its BA Honours courses. The varsity has programs such as Bengali, English, comparative literature, history, international relations/political science and philosophy under the BA degree.

After much ado, the university has now brought back the entrance examination system. The entrance exam dates for the admissions have also been announced. It commences on July 21 and ends on July 25, respectively, for different courses.

Jadavpur University Entrance Exam Dates 2018 With Time

Here are the entrance exam dates according to the courses:

• English: July 21 (12 pm to 2 pm)
• Bengali: July 23 (12 pm to 2 pm)
• Philosophy: July 24 (11.30 am to 1.30 pm)
• International Relations/Political Science: July 24 (2.30 pm to 4.30 pm)
• Comparative Literature: July 25 (11.30 am to 1.30 pm)
• History: July 25 (2.30 pm to 4.30 pm)

• Other courses - August 8 to 10

• Selection Process: 50% weightage for academic scores and 50% weightage for entrance exams

Entrance Exam For BA Courses In Jadavpur University

Earlier, the university had scrapped the entrance exam system and announced that the admissions will take place only on the basis of the marks obtained in the class 12 board exams. However, students and teachers demonstrated protests over the decision and brought back the entrance test system fighting against the management.

Students even went on a hunger strike and the varsity was under stress for a couple of days. A couple of students who participated in the hunger strike had to be rushed to the hospital after their health condition deteriorated.
