IIT Mandi, invites applications for its part time MS programme for the academic year 2014. Eligible students can apply online by logging on to the official website of IIT Mandi.
IIT Mandi provides an opportunity for college/ university faculty members to earn a research degree (MS) on part- time basis while continuing to work in their respective college/ university. The list of disciplines are Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Humanities and Social sciences.
The minimum educational qualifications for admission to the M.S. programme in Engineering are as follows:
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology or Masters degree in appropriate Sciences with valid score in GATE/ NET or equivalent national level examination or GRE in appropriate discipline.
Candidates having associate membership of the following professional bodies are also eligible for admission to the MS programme of their parent discipline provided they have a valid GATE score and have passed both part A and part B of the membership examinations with a good academic record. The Institution of Engineers (India), (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and communications), The Aeronautical society of India, The Indian Institute of Metals, The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, The Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and other professional bodies approved by the senate from time to time.

- Submit the application form for the part time admission (Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir Faculty members only). The candidate must include the research proposal and a certificate of sponsorship from his/ her parent College/University.
- Periodically, IIT Mandi will conduct interviews/ written test. The candidate may be examined on his/ her research proposal and his/ her knowledge of the discipline.
