IIT Madras Offers M.Tech Program For The Academic Session 2017

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has released an admission notification inviting applications from interested, eligible candidates to apply for its Master of Technology (MTech) program offered in various specializations for the academic session 2017.

What is the duration of the course?

The duration of the course will be of two years.

Financial assistance:

Financial assistance in the form of Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) at the rate of Rs 12, 400 pm (tenable for a maximum period of 24 months) will be awarded to Indian nationals doing the course.

Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification:

The candidates interested in applying for IIT Madras M.tech program must have qualified in GATE 2015, GATE 2016 or GATE 2017.

They must also fulfill any one of the following:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering/technology/architecture from educational institutions approved by AICTE/ government
• Master's degree in chemistry/life sciences/ mathematics/physics related subjects from educational institutions approved by UGC/ government
• Those graduating/ graduated from IITs with BTech degree and having CGPA of 7.5 (on a scale of 10) and above for SC/ ST and 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above for others can apply without GATE score.

Selection procedure:

The candidates will be selected on the basis of their GATE scores.
