IIT Bhubaneswar invites applications for Ph.D Programmes

Applications are invited by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar for Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes.

Programmes are offered in School of Basic Sciences, Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences, Electrical Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences & Management, Infrastructure, Mechanical Sciences and Minerals, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering for the session 2016.

Eligibility Criteria:

Ph.D Engineering Programme:

• Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) in M.Tech./M.E or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with a valid GATE score in the year of admission into the M.Tech. programme OR
• Candidates having B. Tech./B.E. or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with minimum 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) with a valid GATE score or having secured a UGC/CSIR-NET JRF can apply
• Candidates must have minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in 10 point scale) in all other examinations. A single relaxation up to 10% marks either at 10th or 12th level examination or equivalent is permitted

Ph.D Basic Science Programme:

• Candidates need to have a minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) in the master's or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record. Provisional certificate is also accepted OR
• Candidates need to have a minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (in a 10-point scale) in the Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record. Provisional certificate is also accepted
• Candidate must have a valid GATE score or have secured a UGC/CSIR-NET JRF

• Application fees of Rs 500/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs 250/- for SC/ST/PwD candidates While female candidates are exempted from paying application fee
