IIIT-Hyderabad declares admissions to PG programmes via PGEE 2014

International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad, has announced admissions to post graduate programmes through Postgraduate Entrance Examination 2014 (PGEE 2014).

About Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE 2014):

• An all-India examination will be held at Hyderabad and a number of major cities in the country depending on the number of applicants from each region. The entrance examination will consist of two papers.
• Paper I test the general aptitude of the candidate and will consist of objective questions from Mathematics, Programming, and Logical Reasoning.
• Paper II is the Subject Paper, which tests the candidate's subject knowledge.

Admission into M.Tech./M.S by Research/Ph.D. Programmes is very flexible at IIIT Hyderabad. A student with an Engineering or Science degree in any field/area can seek admission into any other field/area for higher studies. For instance, a candidate who has completed B.Tech. in Electronics/Electrical/Civil Engineering can apply for M.Tech./M.S./Ph.D in Computer Science, VLSI & Computer Engineering and Bioinformatics.

Post graduation Programme:

*M.Tech-

• All those who have completed (or going to complete by July 2014) BE/BTech in Engineering (any branch including CS/IT/ECE/EEE/Civil/Instrumentation/Biotechnology) or B.Arch. or Master's degree in Science/Maths/IT/Computer Science or MCA

Research Programme:

*M.S by Research-

• All those who are eligible to apply for MTech programme, are also eligible to apply.
• All those who have completed (or going to complete by July 2014) M.E/M.Tech.

Ph.D:

• All those who are eligible to apply for M.Tech programme, are also eligible to apply for Ph.D programme.
• All those who have completed (or going to complete by July 2014) M.E/M.Tech.
• All those who have completed (or going to complete by July 2014) masters degree in Social Sciences or Humanities are eligible to apply only for Ph.D programme with Spatial Informatics and Exact Humanities.

Note:

GATE scholarship is available subject to receipt of funds from AICTE.

Important dates:

• Admission portal will be open till 20th March, 2014.
• Admit cards will be available for downloading on 6th April, 2014.
• Date of PGEE written entrance exam: 13th April, 2014.
